People who held on to rare Heroes began to sell them as they saw prices plummeting and putting an ember into the fire. This is understandable, though given that rarer Hero items can fetch hundreds of real-world dollars when sold via third-party platforms.

EA is yet to make a statement on the situation, and although the market has begun to recover, the losses appear to be irreparable and it is yet to be determined what the publisher will do to rectify the situation.
